What a fun top! Wear it dancing (it really swings!), dress it up whenever you need to lift your spirits!
We've substituted the spacedyed rayon boucle called for in the pattern with our own special order rayon boucle in two shades of solid colors. Double strands of 20/2 Pearly Perle are used as weft.
Weave this easy-to-assemble Swing Top (loom waste becomes the fringe) on any 2-shaft or 4-shaft, 22" wide loom with a 10-dent reed and 1 shuttle. Can even be woven on a rigid heddle loom in plain weave.
Finished fabric after washing is 21" x 72" plus 20" fringe at one end.
Other supplies call for Butterick pattern #3398, fabric lining, interfacing, buttons and sewing thread, not included in kit.
This project is featured in the Handwoven September/October 2011 magazine which you will need for all the warping, weaving and finishing instructions. Be sure to order this Handwoven magazine if you don't alreay have this issue.
