Our Gypsy Chenille and Shadow Weave are perfect partners! The relative thickness and velvety texture of chenille yarns give scale and drama to the pinstripes and outlines of shadow weave designs.
This kit provides the warp length to make three scarves so you can experiment with different treadling orders. You won't want to stop with only three!
Together, chenille and shadow weave make a luxurious, soft, drapable scarf with infinite potential for pattern.
You will need a 4 shaft loom with 8" weaving width or an 8-shaft loom with 6" weaving width; an 8-dent reed and 2 shuttles.
Finished sizes after washing: Three scarves 6 1/2" x 73" (4-shaft scarves) or 4 7/8" x 73" (8-shaft scarves) plus 4-5" fringe at each end.
This project is featured in the Handwoven January/February 2012 magazine which you will need for all the warping, weaving and finishing instructions. Be sure to order this Handwoven magazine if you don't already have this issue.
