Playing with Blocks Waffle Weave Towels (4-Shaft)
Get inspired using color and texture on your rigid heddle or 4-shaft loom!
Waffle weave is the ideal weave structure for kitchen towels with its super absorbent abilities.
Weaving texture on your rigid heddle loom is very easy to achieve with just one pick up stick. It's a breeze on any 4-harness loom as well!
Such an excellent way to explore color and texture not only on your rigid heddle loom but on your table or floor loom with 4 shafts.
Equipment needed: rigid heddle or 4 shaft loom; 12 dent reed; 3 stick shuttles; 1 pick up stick (for rigid heddle).
Finished size: four towels 16 1/2" x 24 1/2" each
Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 cotton in Nile, Blue and Duck. The three colors used are of the same value but also have enough contrast to make the color block squares prominently seen throughout the towels.
Instructions included: You will receive a pattern download with purchase of this kit.
Featured in: Handwoven May/June 2015 available from Long Thread Media.
Originally designed by Jodi Ybarra for rigid heddle weaving
Revised 4 shaft version by Sarah H. Jackson
