100% Bamboo Yarn

A beautiful 100% bamboo yarn made from a renewable resource. Bamboo is grown without pesticides or fertilizers and is processed into a smooth, versatile fiber with a lovely rayon like feel.

You’ll love the yarn’s silky smooth texture, beautiful drape, and subtle sheen. It is similar in size to a fine 16/2 cotton and has a delicate look reminiscent of silk.

This fine weight yarn is ideal for weaving and fine gauge double bed machine knitting.

Suggested Sett:

• Plain weave: 24-30 epi
• Twill (3/1 turned twill): 30 epi

Yardage:

• 4 oz cone: 1,575 yards
• 16 oz cone: 6,300 yards

If you’re looking for a slightly heavier bamboo yarn, see our Bambu 7, which is closer to a 5/2 weight and is ideal for mid gauge machine knitting, weaving, and crochet.

Care instructions may vary depending on the finished project. We have had excellent results with machine washing and drying, and our Bamboo Baby Blanket has been washed many times with long lasting results.

For most projects, we recommend machine washing in warm water on a gentle cycle with mild detergent. Tumble dry on low and press with a cool iron using a press cloth.

For delicate projects such as scarves with fringe or intricately woven table runners, you may prefer to hand wash.
