I haven't begun weaving yet, but the color kit I chose, the brown and rust, are lovely and vibrant yarns, soft but stillstrong enough I can't break them easily. I think they will weave up beautifully. Also customer service was outstanding, Jodi was very helpful when I had questions, I couldn't be happier
Thank you for making such a beautiful advent calendar for my rigid heddle 24" loom. I requested specific colors and it exceeded my expectations. All the items were selected with care and are of great quality. I thoroughly enjoyed opening them all. A wonderful assortment. I'm so happy with it.
I love it. I have difficulty with picking out colors, so this is great. I haven't done much weaving for a few months , so this is great at getting me back into weaving.
I use Aurora Eart 8/2 Cotton on the 16 oz cone to crochet Dishcloths. I have handed them out to friends and family over the years. Now, because of word of mouth, I have people I do not know contacting me to make dishcloths for them. They have seen the dishcloths I have given out over the years and want some of their own. I now sell a few at the local community Holiday Craft Fair I participate in each year.
Good question! That is exactly what is supposed to happen. At pick 15 the two layers intertwine to begin creating the pattern. In this case, the doubleweave fabric doesn’t create two separate pieces of fabric, but instead creates a thick fabric with two distinct sides (one light and one dark). The first 14 picks are designed to create an opening so that you can fold them in and secure the ends. The rest of the fabric stays as one piece to create thick fabric that’s perfect for hot pads.
I love it. I am warped and now weaving the project. The colors are brilliant. Pattern was easy to follow but required paying attention. I used the slot then hole threading method ....2 threads per slot and 2 threads per hole.....
A wonderful Christmas present for a special person.
I ordered the Flower Garden Hot Pad project with the draft from Schacht. I can’t get the double weave to work. The first 14 pics create a two layer cloth with openings on the sides as expected. Pic 15 is where the double weave stops. The cloth becomes interlaced. I have spent 5 days taking this project apart and starting again with the same result. What am I doing wrong?
What else can I say but perfect. The monthly towel kits have exposed me as a beginner weaver to lots of patterns and techniques. Best of all Jodi is just a message away with answers to my many questions. I have loved every month so far
This yarn adds lovely texture and is very soft. I use it often with Aurora Earth 8/2 cotton and Caterpillar yarn from Cotton Clouds. I highly recommend it!
I wove 6 yards x 30 inches. (Baby wrap for my latest grand baby). Beautiful colours. Beautiful to handle. Lovely sheen and drape.
Jodi’s instructions are so clear and easy to follow. The end product looks great and has a lovely texture.
Have not started yet but not having to look for colours in my stash and receiving all I need is comforting! Have never purchased a kit before and this one won't be the last. Am kinda new to Cotton Clouds and so appreciate the customer service and speed of delivery as well as a coupon for a 10% discount on next purchase! Love the website, beautiful colours and variety. They are also quick to respond to questions. Wonder which kit I am purchasing next?
These are a stunning pair of towels and Tammy Bast writes an amazing pattern! It's called "Bumberet Inspired" but it truly is the Bumberet weaving pattern, achieved with pick-up sticks. The colors of the Aurora Earth in the kit just pop with the pattern! I love that I don't need to purchase entire cones of colors to make these on my rigid heddle loom.
I have not made them yet but have thoroughly read through the instructions and feel confident that I can do it!! I love the look of the towels and am very anxious to get started!
Really soft yarn in beautiful bright colors. Can't wait to use it with some of the patterns I receive as part of the pattern club!
