Nature Path Towels
Designed by Jodi Ybarra and featured in Easy Weaving with Little Looms, Fall 2025.

Inspired by her favorite mountain hikes in Arizona, Jodi brings the beauty of the outdoors to the loom with the Nature’s Path Towels. Soft earth tones and shifting seasonal hues echo the quiet, calming colors of nature’s landscape.

By combining different warp yarns, these towels create a rich texture and visual depth without requiring a complex weave structure. It’s a project that captures the peaceful rhythm of the trail and turns it into something beautiful and useful for everyday life.

Skill Level: This is a great project for a beginner who wants to practice warping with several yarns. The weft is all one color and weaves up quickly.

Weave structure: plain weave

Equipment needed:  Rigid heddle loom; 22” weaving width; 10 dent reed; 3 shuttles.

Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 Cotton, Cotton Tail, Monte Cristo Boucle, Cotton Essentials, Cloud Nine Cotton, and Caterpillar Cotton.

Finished size: two towels 17” x 27” hemmed.

Instructions needed: Easy Weaving with Little Looms Fall 2025, pages 72 and 78.

This kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these towels. The pattern can be found in the magazine noted above.  You will need to purchase this magazine if you don't already own a copy.

This kit was filled with fun yarns

This kit was filled with fun yarns. It gave me the chance to weave with different types of cotton yarns all in one towel. It was easy to warp..follow Jodie’s tip..and wove up quickly. The finished product has a wonderful hand, while I made towels, I think it would be great as a cotton scarf or bandanna, with just a little size adjustment.
