This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these A La Carte Napkins that were designed by Sara C. Bixler for Easy Weaving with Little Looms Fall 2022, pages 68, 82–83.

Whether this is your first introduction to the beautiful patterning of modified huck or it's an old friend, you'll enjoy these fun little explorations of lace weave.

Weave Structure: plain weave with 3/1 lace and modified 5/1 huck lace

Yarns: Organic 3/2 Cottons and Aurora Earth 8/2 cotton for hems.

We have made similar yarn substitutions for the Perle 3/2 Cotton yarns from the original pattern with our Organic 3/2 Cottons.  We think you will enjoy weaving with the naturally grown colors of organic unmercerized cottons.  Unmercerized cottons produce super-absorbent and soft napkins.  We have also included a thinner 8/2 cotton for weaving your hem areas.  The pattern doesn't state to weave with a thinner yarn for the hems, but we prefer this method.

Equipment needed: rigid heddle; 16” weaving width; 12 or 12.5 dent reed; 2 pick-up sticks; 1 shuttle.

Finished Dimensions: four napkins 13" x 13" each

Instructions needed:  Easy Weaving with Little Looms Fall 2022 available from Long Thread Media.  Pattern sold separately.

You can also purchase Sara Bixler's Huck Lace on the Rigid Heddle Loom Video Download which is ideal for advanced beginners and any weaver interested in weaving beautiful huck lace using a rigid-heddle loom.

Note:  This kit includes all yarns needed to weave this project.  The pattern can be found in the Handwoven magazine noted above.  You will need to purchase this magazine if you don't already own a copy.
