A Pop of Bloom Scarf
Weave a scarf with Supplementary Warp and Weft!
There are many ways to add supplemental warp and weft to plain weave using finger-controlled techniques, pick-up sticks, and warp additions.
Supplemental techniques rely on a base warp and weft to create a stable fabric, allowing for extra yarns (the supplements) to be added to the warp or the weft.
This project is simply an introduction to two of these techniques using Bamboo Pop as the base and Bamboo Bloom Handpaints as the textured Supplementary Warp and Weft.
Weave structure: plain weave supplementary warp and weft
Yarns: Bamboo Pop and Bamboo Bloom Handpaints
Equipment needed: rigid heddle loom; 9" weaving width; one 10 dent reed; one shuttle; one pick-up stick.
Finished size: one scarf 8 x 72" plus fringe.
