Balancing the Elements Towels
Bring harmony to your loom with our Balancing the Elements towel weaving kit! Inspired by the natural elements—earth, water, fire, and air—this kit invites you to weave stunning towels that blend vibrant hues and soothing tones.
I love weaving in simple stripes but wanted to add contrast to my stripes to make things more interesting. The warp is a repeating pattern of two different number sequences, so the stripes are balanced making the warp order easy to follow.
A rigid heddle or 4-shaft pattern is included in this kit so that everyone can enjoy this project. The rigid heddle towels are woven in plain weave structure while the 4-shaft towels can be woven in either plain weave or twill.
This is a great project for beginners!
There are three color options to choose from. Each kit will make two towels or choose the 3 kit bundle to make two of each for a total of six towels.
Weave structure: plain weave or twill
Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 Cottons
- Coastal Currents - royal blue, light turk, charcoal, and white.
- Woodland Retreat - light brown, dark green, chocolate, and natural.
- Holly Berry - wine, juniper, lipstick, and natural
Equipment needed: 4-shaft or Rigid Heddle Loom; 20” weaving width; 10 dent reed; 1 shuttle.
Finished size: two hemmed towels approximately 16.5” x 27” hemmed.
