Big Wrap Beach Blanket in Organic Cotton

This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave this Big Wrap Beach Blanket that was designed by Cynthia Newman with Katzy Luhring for Handwoven May/June 2022, pages 68-70.

When the breeze picks up, it is so nice to wrap up in a lightweight blanket.  

Weave this organic cotton blanket which can serve equally well as a picnic cloth or beach towel.  This is such an easy project in twill weave structure that is sure to please. 

The naturally colored organic yarns will become darker when washed and will continue to change throughout the life of the cloth.

Weave Structure: twill

Yarns:   American Maid Organic 10/2 Cottons.  Kit includes yarn color of your choice for stripes in either green or brown along with natural.

Equipment needed: 4-shaft loom; 47" weaving width; 12-dent reed; 2 shuttles. 

Note:  This is a 4-shaft project but requires 8 treadles, 2 more than are on most 4-shaft looms.  A skeleton tie-up is provided in the pattern for weaving on a 4-shaft, 6-treadle loom using 2 treadles at a time.

Finished size:   one blanket 39" x 73" plus 2 1/2" fringe
