4-Shaft Loom Version
Classic and captivating, this traditional Bird’s Eye Twill pattern reveals a rhythmic geometry where warp and weft threads interact to form delicate “eyes.” Designed by Jodi Ybarra for multi-shaft weavers, this version embraces the structure’s heritage while offering a satisfying and meditative weaving experience. Instructions are included in the kit and available as a convenient PDF download. Shown in Azurite blue.
Rigid Heddle Version
Specially designed for rigid heddle looms by Michele Marshall, this interpretation of Bird’s Eye Twill uses a clever adaptation of diamond twill to replicate the signature “eye” motif. Staggered diamond layers form a rich, dimensional pattern that sparkles with the sheen of mercerized cotton—perfect for making your rigid heddle loom projects shine. Full instructions and a PDF pattern are included with the kit. Shown in Chartreuse green.
While the multi-shaft and rigid heddle versions differ slightly in appearance, both showcase a stunning take on the Bird’s Eye Twill pattern.

Weave structure: Bird's Eye Twill
Equipment needed for 4-shaft loom: 15” weaving width; 10 dent reed; 1 shuttle.
Equipment needed for rigid heddle loom: 15” weaving width; Two 10-dent reeds; 1 shuttle.
Yarns: Softspun 5/2 Cotton in white and the color of your choice. Choose the color for your kit in the drop-down menu.
Finished size: one runner 13" x 47" plus fringe (4-shaft). One runner 11" x 58" plus fringe (rigid heddle). The length can be adjusted to fit your size table. You can make one long runner or two shorter runners.
