This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these Classic Maze Placemats that were designed by Kathleen Monaghan for Handwoven, September/October 1998, pp. 45, 74.

Weave these sturdy placemats on any 2 or 4-shaft loom with at least 16" weaving width and 10 dent reed.

Weave Structure: Plain weave with color-and-weave effects

Yarns: 24/7 Cotton in Sky Blue and Black

Note: these towels were originally woven with Cotton Classic yarns.

Equipment needed:  2 or 4-shaft loom, 16" weaving width, 10 dent reed, 2 shuttles

Notions needed: 8 yds double-fold extra-wide black bias tape and black sewing thread (sold separately) or you can make your own bias tape with black fabric.  How To Make Your Own Bias Tape

Finished size:  four placemats 12.5" x 18.5" each.
