An abundance of weft and warp floats make these kitchen towels not only textured but thirsty.

Unlike many two-block pick-up patterns, this one doesn’t require reinserting the second pick-up stick every few picks, so the weaving goes quickly and smoothly.

Each towel is woven with a different weft color making a coordinating set that is similar but not exactly the same.  The four towel kits will make two of each weft color.

Weave Structure:  textured weave with warp & weft floats

Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 cottons.

  • colors include - white, yellow, blue, copen, baby blue.

Equipment needed: rigid heddle loom; 24" weaving width; 10-dent reed; 2 shuttles; 2 pick-up sticks

Note: 2½ yd warp for two towels / 4¾ yd warp for four towels

Finished size:  19" × 28½" each towel hemmed.

Wonderful towel

i have made the grey version of this and wanted to make the blue version. I really like the pickup stick pattern. It adds a lot to a relatively simple towel.
