The Glimmer Scarf, designed by Tammy Bast of The Rogue Weaver, is a beautiful study in balance, symmetry, and subtle texture. The carefully centered pick-up design sits within each block, creating a pattern that is both orderly and interesting. The neutral color palette complements the design beautifully, allowing the woven pattern to take center stage.

The scarf is woven with doubled Bamboo Cotton, creating a wonderfully soft fabric with beautiful drape. Bamboo Cotton is also machine washable, making this a practical choice for an everyday scarf.

The pattern uses two pick-up sticks to create the design. One remains in the loom throughout the project, while the second is inserted as needed. Once you get into the first repeat, the weaving settles into a comfortable rhythm. For those who prefer not to reinsert the second pick-up stick throughout the project, the pattern also includes instructions for using string heddles instead.

With its soft neutral colors, graceful drape, and carefully balanced design, the Glimmer Scarf is a wonderful project for exploring pick-up weaving while creating a scarf that is both beautiful and easy to wear.
