Memories of Marrakech Placemats Kit

Designed by Christine Jablonski and featured in Easy Weaving with Little Looms Spring 2026.

These placemats were designed after Christine fell in love with the intricate beauty of a painted ceiling tucked into a narrow passageway of one of the Medina’s many souks. Rich with pattern and detail, they capture the layered artistry and lively spirit of Marrakech and bring a touch of that magic to the table.

Weave structure: plain weave, spot Bronson, color and weave.

Yarns: 8/4 Cotton Parakeet and Lime

Equipment needed: Rigid-heddle loom, 14" weaving width; 12 or 12.5-dent heddle; 3 pick-up sticks; 2 boat shuttles with 3 bobbins or 3 stick shuttles.

Finished size: four hemmed placemats 11" × 17".
