Modernist Towels
Modernist Towels
Bring bold, graphic design to your table with the Modernist Towels. Inspired by the off-register, vibrating staccato movement found in Modernist paintings of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, these towels combine striking patterning with a soft, smooth hand.
Woven in False Damask, the structure enhances the softness of Duet Cotton/Linen while allowing the graphic block threading to shine. A different tie-up can also be used to explore variations such as Turned Twill, offering creative flexibility and multiple design possibilities from the same warp.
Perfect for intermediate weavers ready to experiment with structure and color, these towels are as engaging to weave as they are beautiful on the table. Finished with wet-finishing and hemming, they make a bold, handmade statement for everyday use or special occasions.

This kit is different from our standard weaving kits. Instead of pre-measured yarn amounts, you’ll receive full-size cones of each color used in the pattern. This means you may have extra yarn beyond what the project requires—perfect for weaving additional fabric or exploring your own variations.
The kit price reflects the inclusion of full-size cones and the expanded creative possibilities they offer.
