Op Art Table Linens

These placemats with matching table runner are woven in three blocks using a combination of doubleweave and single-layer cloth. One of the warps is narrower than the other, which enables you to create a placemat with a two-layer doubleweave border on all four sides.

This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these Op Art Table Linens that were designed by Tien Chiu for Handwoven Winter 2024. 

Use the drop-down menu to choose to weave these linens in natural and dark green or natural and dark brown organic cottons.

Weave structure: Doubleweave

Yarns: Organic 10/2 Cottons

Equipment needed: 8-shaft loom; 14" weaving width; 10 dent reed; 2 shuttles.

Finished size:  four placemats 11" x 17 1/2" and one runner 11" x 44" hemmed.

Instructions needed: Handwoven Winter 2024, pages 46-49.
