Palm Springs Cocktail Carpets
This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these Palm Springs Cocktail Carpets that were designed by Jennifer E Kwong for Handwoven, March/April 2023, pages 35–37.
Jennifer's inspiration for these cute little mats came from the homes in Palm Springs, Ca. They capture the fun, frivolity, and lightness of mid-century-modern style. The clean lines, cheery colors and asymmetry of line structure are very pleasing to the eye.
Weave Structure: plain weave & huck lace
Yarns: 8/4 Cotton in Ivory, Dark Navy and Gold.
Note: We have made similar substitutions for the Maurice Brassard 8/4 cotton yarns from the original pattern.
Equipment needed: 3-shaft Loom; 6” weaving width; 12 dent reed; 1 shuttle; 2 bobbins
Finished Dimensions: six cocktail carpets 5" × 6" including fringe.
