This weaving kit includes all the yarns needed to weave these Prairie Bloom Towels that were designed by Malynda Allen for Handwoven May/June 2023.

These towels are woven in a little plain weave with a log cabin border.  Oh, and an added huck center will add fantastic texture too!

Weave Structure: plain weave and huck with color-and-weave.

Yarns: Aurora Earth 8/2 Cottons

We have made similar color substitutions for some of the 8/2 cotton yarns from the original pattern with our Aurora Earth 8/2 cottons.

Equipment needed: 4-shaft Loom; 21” weaving width; 12 dent reed; 2-4 shuttles; 4 bobbins. Optional hanging tabs: inkle loom; belt shuttle.

Finished Dimensions: four hemmed towels with tabs, 17½" × 25" each.

Instructions needed: Handwoven May/June 2023 pages 44-47.

This kit includes all yarns needed to weave these towels.  The pattern can be found in the Handwoven magazine noted above.  You will need to purchase this magazine if you don't already own a copy.

Better than I expected

I love the way these towels turned out. The combination of huch, log cabin and plain weave in the pattern are eye catching, in my opinion. The only thing is the pattern I downloaded from Handwoven only showed plain weave treadling. I figured out the huck treadling from Madelyn van der Hoogt’s “The Complete Book of Drafting for Handweavers.” However, it was kind of fun playing with iWeaveIt to figure out the color combinations and huck treadling.
