Spot Lace Hand Towels
Weave a set of beautiful, textured towels with this Spot Lace Weaving Kit! Originally designed as a beach towel for the Invincible Summer Weave Quarterly series, this versatile design can also be woven as generous, absorbent hand towels.
The lovely Spot Lace pattern creates a fabric that is just as beautiful on the front as it is on the back. In fact, both sides have so much visual interest that choosing which side to hem may be the hardest part of the project! You may find yourself wanting to weave a few extra towels so you can enjoy both sides.
The design is based on 5/1 Spot Lace from Jane Patrick’s The Weaver’s Idea Book. Jennifer Mao created the original design, which was adapted and woven by Christine Jablonski.
This kit includes all the yarns and the pattern needed to weave your Spot Lace Towels. You'll receive Natural along with your choice of a color. Simply use the drop-down menu to select your preferred color.
Weave Structure: Spot Lace
Yarns: Beam 3/2 in natural and the color of your choice. Shown in Cardinal.
Equipment Needed for Rigid Heddle
- Rigid heddle loom with 22" weaving width
- 12 or 12.5 dent reed
- 1 boat shuttle + 2-3 bobbins or 1-2 stick shuttles
- 2-3 pick up sticks, 23 string heddles, heddle rod
Equipment Needed for 4-Shaft Loom
- 4-shaft loom with 22" weaving width
- 12 dent reed
- 1 boat shuttle + 2-3 bobbins or 1-2 stick shuttles
Finished Size: two hemmed towels 17” W x 26”
