Summer and Winter Kitchen Towels
Summer and Winter Kitchen Towels designed by Sarah Jackson for Handwoven May/June 2016
Explore the beauty of Summer and Winter weave with this elegant set of kitchen towels. Woven on four shafts using 8/2 cotton, these towels showcase the striking contrast between pattern and ground cloth that makes this traditional weave structure so captivating.
Designed with a simple two color palette, the pattern highlights the interplay of structure, texture, and fiber rather than relying on complex color changes. The reversible design offers two distinct looks, allowing you to choose your favorite side for the finished towels.
This project is a wonderful introduction to Summer and Winter weaving and an enjoyable exploration of block design, pattern development, and the timeless appeal of handwoven kitchen linens.
