The House Next Door Double Heddle Towels
The House Next Door Towel Kit
Cool, classic, and rooted in home—The House Next Door is a colour-and-weave project inspired by the cheerful, brightly painted houses that shape the neighbourhoods here in Halifax and across the East Coast. It’s a reminder that inspiration doesn’t need to be far
away, sometimes it’s waiting right outside the window.
Woven with two heddles to achieve the proper sett, this project guides you through three timeless colour-and-weave effects—Log Cabin, Houndstooth, and a custom block design—all in one warp. You’ll work step-by-step through double-heddle threading, tensioning, and weaving at 20 ends per inch, gaining confidence as the patterns grow beneath your hands.
The result: two beautifully balanced towels that look as delicious as their name, with lovely
texture, drape, and design that invite a closer look.
*Note: this is NOT a beginner project: weavers should have previous experience weaving with 2 heddles!
